Polemik soal penamaan Stadion Gedebage akhirnya tuntas. Berdasarkan hasil polling, DPRD Kota Bandung menetapkan nama ‘Gelora Bandung Lautan Api‘ pada stadion berkapasitas 38.000 penonton itu.
Pemilihan nama stadion bertaraf internasional itu sebelumnya memunculkan kontroversi. Di antaranya adalah karena muncul usulan untuk memakai nama Stadion Gelora Rosada, yang mengacu pada nama Wali Kota Bandung Dada Rosada.
Namun akhirnya disepakati kalau pemilihan nama stadion dilakukan dengan cara polling, yakni melalui pesan singkat alias SMS. Dan setelah dibuka sejak 4 Maret hingga akhirnya ditutup pada 22 Maret lalu, akhirnya nama Gelora Bandung Lautan Api lah yang terpilih.
Dari 14.777 sms yang masuk, 83,3% memilih nama ‘Gelora Bandung Lautan Api’. Sisanya yakni Gelora Gedebage Kota Bandung dengan jumlah 2.047 SMS (11,7 persen) dan kemudian Gelora Rosada dengan jumlah SMS 871 (5,0 persen).
“Sesuai kesepakatan rapat bamus, kami menetapkan nama tersebut sebagai nama stadion yang ada di Kecamatan Gedebage,” ujar Wakil Ketua DPRD Kota Bandung, Tedy Setiadi, kepada wartawan.
Di tempat yang sama Wakil Wali Kota Bandung Ayi Vivananda mengatakan, pihaknya menghormati hasil polling dan ketetapan DPRD Kota Bandung terkait nama stadion yang ada di Kecamatan Gedebage tersebut.
“Kita menghormati proses itu, untuk selanjutnya akan ditetapkan oleh Perwal (peraturan wali kota-red). Yang jelas prosesnya sudah dilakukan dan sudah dipublikasikan. Masyarakat juga sudah diikut sertakann,” ujar Ayi.
